The OMG Hour - Feature

The One With the Epic E3 Epitomization

»This one is a long one; an Epic one, if you may. In honour of Video Games’ largest annual show, we bring you an extra long look at what we took away from E3 this week.  Our thoughts on pretty much the entire show plus some extras.  Justin joins us with his first audio update to tell us how he’s faring down in California as he officially embarks on his GamerUnplugged trek across America.  You may not believe what Craig’s Game of Shame is this week that sparks a conversation with his father on the show!

  1. Enjoying the podcast! If I may be so bold as to make an observation (and mainly I say this because it’s what I first thought of when I heard the name of your podcast!) — I would love to hear ya’ll put on your parental hats more often! :D

Some examples of what I mean: when doing the “what we’ve been playing” it’d be interesting to know if there’s anything you’ve been playing with your kids/spouses and having fun together with? If your kids are into gaming, a short 30-second segment where they record what they’ve been playing or are excited about could be fun as a break in the show? When talking about/reviewing games, how good is this for family play? Does it have co-op splitscreen, etc? (Also, e.g., with the price of games what they are, I find a lot of my purchases are influenced strongly by the likelihood more than just myself will enjoy a game, whether it’s my wife or children…) Sure, the Wii U might not interest you, but would it interest kids? That kind of thing… just would love to hear gaming info from the angle of ya’ll as parents sometimes. :)

Thanks so much for the feedback. You make some good points and we’ll definitely talk a out how we can incorporate something like that into the show.
