The OMG! Hour: Episode 98

The One with the Newcomer

This week Amazon tried to make a splash into our living rooms with the announcement of the Amazon Fire TV.  Will this tiny new set top box, which also has gaming capabilities, be able to make a difference?  Does it have a chance to even stand out amongst the competition with AppleTV, Roku, or even Google Chromecast?  While we’re on the topic of making a difference, Microsoft this week announced that Phil Spencer is now the Head of Xbox.  Will Mr. Spencer be able to make a difference in the world of Xbox One?  Does this mean that we could see the Xbox One’s focus become more gamer centric now?  Lastly, in this week’s news, Jeff laments the last bastion of his youth as the GameSpy multiplayer service shuts down.  Finally, we interview Derrick Samuels, the Project Manager and Creator of the OTON, the world’s first fully Autonomous Game Creating console about his ambitious project and upcoming crowdfunding efforts.  For more information on OTON, go to www.otonx.com and www.getotonx.com.
