Episode 238: The One with the 8.5-bit Rage

Careful around here. Video game bits is very serious business and don’t get Jeff started on whether a game is 8-bit or 16.5-bits! He’ll school you on it if you give him the chance. So, instead, let’s talk about other games! Games like Dreadnought and Blade & Soul. New games like Linelight and Dexed get reviewed as does 90 seconds of Kill the Bad Guy, a game in which you, uh, well, kill the bad guy! But only because a dossier told you to!

In the news, PlayStation Plus’s February games are analyzed, Nintendo Switch gets some information about their online service pricing and news about more games begin developed for the Switch isn’t news at all apparently, but a simple letter from Bioware is!

Finally, we discuss the recent news about GameStop’s Circle of Life program and our own experiences with it here in Canada.

Our Lost Treasure this week is Kya: Dark Lineage [2003, PS2]. Lost Treasures is written and narrated by Syd Bolton with gameplay captured by Fred Rojas of gaminghistory101.com.

*Dexed and Linelight were reviewed using keys provided by the developers.
