Episode 239: The One with All the Bits

The Bit Wars continue. First let’s talk about the elephant in the room, a game that is not exactly what it seems. Then let’s actually talk about the latest beta weekend from Ubisoft for their highly anticipated Ghost Recon Wildlands. We were part of the beta and we bring you our thoughts and experiences in the game. We went in with the excitement and expectations of experiencing a game like The Division and Far Cry 4’s amazingly fun multiplayer. Did we come away feeling the same way? Find out inside!

In other gaming discussion, still on the PC front, Jeff played Ashes of the Singularity, “from the people who brought you Sins of a Solar Empire!” So, naturally, Jeff had to give it a try.

Tycko, as usual, pressed more buttons. More silly, silly buttons. Buttons that brought all the bits home with Pixel Heroes: Byte and Magic, and Adventure Pop. Yes, that’s right, he talks about Adventure Pop. Of all the game he played this week, it’s Adventure Pop that make the cut. Because Bust-A-Move!

News was scarce again this week, but we managed to dig up some discussion about Oculus Rift closing nearly half their pop-up stored in Best Buy, PS4 Pro gets new Boost Mode, and E3 will open its doors to the public this year.

Our Lost Treasure this week is 1982’s Shamus for the Commodore 64 in all its 8-bit glory (was it even 8-bit?).  Lost Treasures is written and narrated by Syd Bolton of the Brantford PC Museum (pcmuseum.ca) with gameplay captured by Fred Rojas at gaminghistory101.com.
